Nordiskt Jordmorförbund stöttar barnmorskekollegorna på Island.
The Nordic Federation of Midwives:
“The board meeting of the Nordic Federation of Midwives,
held in Reykjavik Iceland on May 19th – 20th 2015 supports Icelandic midwives in their struggle for a salary that takes into account and values their education.It is now the seventh week of their strike of full three days, Tuesday– Thursday in the National University hospital of Iceland and two days, Monday and Thursday in Akureyri Hospital.
We are concerned that this situation will have serious consequences’ for childbearing women and their families and urge the Icelandic government to negotiate for a fruitful solution for all parties concerned.”
